Chevron Cars Hope 2001

A lot of people still ask about Hope 2001 to this day. Years after her release, Hope is one of the most popular--and rare--Chevron cars, and is the one car that many people are missing from their collections.

Hope 2001 is Chevron's original Special Edition Breast Cancer Awareness car, released in October, 2001. Hope was only available at Chevron stations, and quickly sold out at that time. Hope was never available at the ChevronCars.com website, so is not listed in the catalog there.

From time to time, ChevronCars.com offers a Hope 2001 car as a game prize for some of the ChevronCars.com games. Check the Free Online Games section of ChevronCars.com to see the currently available games and prizes, and keep an eye on the free Newsletter and this Chevron Cars Blog for announcements about game prizes.

While ChevronCars.com doesn't sell any Hope 2001 cars, you may be able to find a Chevron Hope 2001 Car for sale at an online auction site such as eBay -- you can find Hope 2001 on eBay. ChevronCars is not associated with any of eBay merchants so can not be responsible for the quality of the service or merchandise from these sellers.

I have a hope 2001 it is not in mint condition so if I get the one I am bidding on. I am very willing to sell her for the price I paid. I will prove the price by sending the receipt. It is not even close to $70 but like I said it is not mint even though it is in a box with the seals in tact. Please don't fight over her.

You know, if I ever sell a hope or ANY
car-even the regular edtions-on ebay,
I would donate every cent I get to
the Susen G. Komen foundation...
but I doubt I'll ever sell my Chevron
Cars! But if I had 1,000,000 dollars
I would donate half of it(500,000) to
the Susen G. Komen foundation. The
rest I would save and by things such
as the Chevron Cars I don't have, and
old Hess Trucks.

I've been looking in these comments
and I see that evreyone thinks a Hope 2000 exists.
Well there is no such thing as a Hope
2000! This is a good thing because
that means that you aren't missing
it from your collection! 2001 was
the 1st year they made a special
edtion... unless you count Gold Dusty
a special edtion. In my opinon, Gold
Dusty is a combanation of a special
and a limited edtion, so I call it a
special-limited edtion. Just a tip.

I am a 70 year old fogey who has an obsession for the Chevron cars! I need only Hope 2001 as many people do. If you do not do a re-issue, it is only the resellers that make a bunch of $. How about a special release, in conjunction with, say just as an example, the Susan Komen foundation and sell them for , say, $50 each. You would take the steam out of the ebay sellers, and make some $ for breast cancer (I have had lung cancer, my sis breast cancer). This would suit me. I'd be willing to volunteer for a special occasion for this to occur, wherever you would like it to occur. I can see this as a big deal (positively big deal) and isn't that what you were hoping for? I race my cars at school and hope is the fastest.when I roll her she goes vvvvvvvvvvrrrrrmmmmmmmm Really fast. We it a tradition for me to race my cars every day at school at morning recess at 10:22 am. I LOOOOOVE MY CHEVRON CARS!

I am very lucky. I bought 6 Hope 1's and have bought 3 of each since Hope 1 came out. My son has 2 sets of all the cars, 1 to play with and 1 set still mint in the packages. Including the first 3 or 4 in boxes. I paid 7.99 for my Hope # 1. I will not sell them on ebay for a few more years.

i have a question why dont chevron stores carry hope cause our friends work at a chevron station and tell us when they come out so like they didn't tell us infact if i hadn't looked on this site i wouldn't have known it even existed so what is up with that man

  - Posted By: Marti on June 15, 2006

i am a chevron cars collector and i have benn collecting them ever since the first car came out. i didn't have davey driver or hope 2001 or 2002 and i had to get them on ebay. davey driver was a little expensive and hope 2002 was luckily only $24. the only car that i am missing is hope 2001 and everytime i look for them, they always go up in prices a lot. i almost won hope but then someone else put a higher bid on it so since then i am still looking for hope 2001. i think that chevron should re-sale hope 2001 so that all the people that don't have them could get a chance to get a hope 2001 and make their collection complete.

  - Posted By: luis on June 13, 2006

That car will be forever elusive. We have all of them except for Hope 2001. They are hard to win online and I'm not getting scalped on E-bay.

You will find Hope 2001 on Ebay. I recently found one for $62.00

I am 57 & have been collecting Chevron Cars from the very begining. I have every CC & 2 each of the Hope & Faith CC's. Upon my death the entire collection MUST be sold intact, as one item on ebay, to the higest bidder & the $$$$$ donated to
a yet to be determined charity. If I can find a charity that will not pocket one red cent of the $$$$$.
Anyone got any ideas as to what charity that might be?

I think the next Cancer Awareness Chevron Car should be named "Promise".

Hi all. I have been collecting Chevron Cars since they came out. I have all of them. I was fortunate enough to find another original Hope at a toy convention for only $5. If you are patient enough and don't want to pay high dollars for it, just wait it out. The fun part of collecting is finding what you are looking for when you least expect it and at an exceptionally low price.

  - Posted By: Anna on May 4, 2006

i have collected them since the original start of cars. i also have them all except hope 2001. i am not quite ready to pay ebay price yet but give me time. i have 2 of the car carries. i also have the glasses and the chevron car shop which i dont know anyone that has that where the cars park in the garage.

  - Posted By: dile on May 4, 2006

I have 2 complete set of the cars except the first hope. Still in the boxes un opened. Why can't you make some more?

I finally got my Hope 2001 on eBay. I did a "Buy It Now" for $100 because I had been outbid on every other one I put a bid on, so I said "Just do it!" My collection is now 100% complete. All brand new, never out of the container. The first four offered by Chevron came in little cardboard boxes instead of the clear plastic covers. I was lucky enough to buy those from a friend. I am now content! Supersee

Hope 2001,need it and tried ebay.

Mark,
yo man dont be dissin my girl velma i got my hope car off ebay for like 10 bucks its a good deal and when i went to arizona i saw a 2001 hope car there and bought it so i have two haha so dont ever mess with me or my my girl velma. yo peace out everyone

  - Posted By: anthony on January 13, 2006

Velma,

The whole reason collectors want this car is that it's collectible and it's hard to find. If Chevron came out with a re-issue of Hope 2001, belive me, collectors would be fuming mad! That's the point of a Special Edition car, is that there aren't millions of them out there that just anyone can find. If these cars were just re-issued every time they ran out, then they wouldn't be collectors items!

  - Posted By: Mark on January 9, 2006

I was just wondering why with so many collectors wanting the Hope 2000 & 2001, why Chevron won't come out with a re-issue of the cars! I started out buying the cars when the first was release for my nephew, I have been buying everyone that comes out but I didn't know about the hope cars until I miss those two, because the Chevron stations I buy from didn't carry them. And I refuse to pay the price on ebay for them. My nephew has all the cars but those. I understand about limited edition, but I feel as a collector we were not given a chance to buy them. Does chevron read the comments? If so please listen to our requests.

  - Posted By: Velma on January 7, 2006

I have all the Chevron cars except 2001 Hope and hope to find one soon.
And I think a good name for the 2006 Breast Cancer Awarness car would be BLESSING'S

  - Posted By: Dennis on January 6, 2006

Hey all you Chevron car lovers. I have every car and some X 2. For some reason they are Priceless to me, and I am 40+ years old. I think that a good idea would be to donate to a childrens cause such as Make a Wish, or to Childrens Hospitals. The smile on a face would be priceless.

Hello; my mother in law is collecting the breast cancer chevron cars.and is missing the two cars from 2000 & 2001.I am trying to find them for her for her birthday... can any one help.. p. s. I think ebay is too much... Thanks, Rose

  - Posted By: rose m russell on November 5, 2005

As a mammographer and a Chevron car collector, I am a little disappointed that I cannot find the first Hope car. That is the only car missing from the collection. None of the Chevron stations carry any of the cars so I must always order. Tried looking on line and there was only 1 and it was $100.00.

  - Posted By: NAna on October 28, 2005

I agree with Rachel and Robin about Hope 2001, being sold on e-bay for profit into people's own hand.
If, I knew a group was selling it for a breast cancer research fundraiser for a walk I would buy it for the asking price.
Now, if only Chevron would sell the one's they are giving away to winners...for let's say $50-$100 and Chevron would agree to donate the extra profits to breast cancer research, I for one would buy one in a heart beat!
And if you were to re-issue Hope 2001, I still would want the original one plus the re-issued one.

I have the complete collection but had to buy Hope 2001 on ebay for $80.00. It was worth it to me. I started my collection in 1998 and will continue to add to it.

James,

You can find Hope 2002 on ebay.

I have all the cars but Icon car, a fixed/new Sally School Bus, (I found a broken one at a yard sale for a buck), and OF COURSE Hope 2001. I guess I'll be breaking down soon to buy Icon Car and Sally School Bus here on the website. But man, I really need Hope 2001! Then my son will have the entire collection! (minus the autopia cars)

2001 and 2002.............

I REALY REALY WANT THEM!!!!!!!!

tell me if you have any tips for hope
2002.

It would be nice to have a re-release of Hope 2001. She and Davey Driver are the only 2 I don't own. The problem with Hope 2001 being sold on eBay is that the monies obtained there for a Hope 2001 don't benefit Cancer research or awareness (unless the seller chooses to donate the funds received of course) in the same way that the original Hope 2001 did when she was sold at stations and the proceeds went for research and awareness - which is really too bad.

  - Posted By: Robin on July 6, 2005

hope 2001 can be gotten on e-bay if you are willing to pay a much higher price for her....the last time my daughter looked, hope 2001 could be gotten for over $50....i may eventually break down and spend the money but my objection is knowing the money for buying her at a chevron station goes to breast cancer research, makes buying her from an individual less appealing.... you know the money is going in their pocket instead of cancer research....

  - Posted By: rachel on June 24, 2005

All you collectors looking for missing cars, check Phoenix, AZ. Tons of cars on shelves the stations can't give away!!!!n Several stations stopped selling because too many left over after promotions. Call all your friends, have them check out the Phoenix area for you!

  - Posted By: carol on June 14, 2005

I have the entire collection of cars and have been collecting since 1996. I only had problems finding Hope 2001 and Tony Turbo. I got lucky, on a road trip to Arizona I found Tony, at a station outside of Flagstaff. As far as Hope I payed $ 80.00 for her on E-bay and now all my cars are just waiting for new friends !

  - Posted By: Mandi on May 25, 2005

I know I found my Faith 2004 as a gift on christmas. My mom found it in Utah at the biggest chevron there.
As for Hope 2001,2002,and2003, I got lucky on a stop from Utah to Texas when I moved on Route 66 in New Mexico.
I sure hope you all find the Hope or Faith you are looking for $77 wouldnt even consider selling mine.

I brought my HOPE 2001 on ebay and paid I believe $71.00 for it...But by getting it it was the only one I needed to compelete the whole set od the CHevron cards so now I have all of them....Maybe you should check out ebay and see what they have.....

  - Posted By: Rosemarie on April 9, 2005

I HOPE that this car is re-released, just like the other cars. Why isn't that possible? There are folks making a killing on e-bay and for some of us who really love the Chevron cars, this is very disturbing.

Can I write to a congressman or something? Let me know!!!

  - Posted By: Nehanda on April 8, 2005

On March 26 a Hope 2001 sold on ebay for $77. I've seen them sell for higher. I'm not sure how many Hope 2001 cars Chevron made. They weren't sold online but only in the stations. Faith is not up there yet price-wise, but I don't think many Faith cars were made because the website sold out fast.

  - Posted By: Bonnie on April 6, 2005

If CHEVRON HOPE 2001 is a "rare" car, then I hate to think what CHEVRON FAITH 2004 must be! We never saw FAITH on sale anywhere in the Louisiana-Mississippi area. When we checked the online shop, she was already marked "Out of Stock". I guess she was on sale somewhere in the U.S. but, as I noted, we did not get a chance to add her to my son's collection - he will be returning to Iraq in August 2005 with the Marines.
