New Chevron Car: Sneak Peak

Pearl HuntWe've acquired some photos of the new Chevron Car! The new car is #37 Payton Pizza, and will be available at the Chevron Cars KidsShop starting July 1. The car will also be available at participating Chevron stations. Note that each individual station manager makes the decision of whether or not to carry the cars, so not all stations will have them. You can find a Chevron station in your area at the Find-a-Chevron website. View the Payton Pizza commercial.

We'll keep you informed when we get more information. Keep an eye on this website for the most up-to-date news about the Chevron Cars.

Limited Edition Cars Facts

Chevron has made several Limited Edition cars over the past several years, and we've learned the production numbers for each one.

  • Icon Car: Each one of the Icon cars is individually numbered in the back window, so each one is unique. There were 50,000 of these cars produced and no more will ever be produced again. You can still purchase Icon Car at ChevronCars.com.

  • Taylor Taxi: There were 50,000 of these Gold Taylor Taxis produced. This limited edition car was a special offer that was only available to Chevron credit card holders. It is currently available to anyone in the Limited Edition bundle, which comes with three cars: Taylor, Icon Car and Hope 2003. Taylor Taxi is similar to the regular edition Tyler Taxi (now out of stock), but Taylor has a premium gold finish paint job.

  • Davey Driver: Davey Driver is a Special Edition car, similar to the regular edition purple Danni Driver. The green Davey Driver car is relatively rare, as he was very popular and there were only 40,000 Davey Drivers produced. Davey is out of stock from ChevronCars.com and will not be produced again. From time to time you can find Davey Driver on eBay.

  • Gold Autopia Dusty: The Gold Autopia Dusty car is the most rare of the cars, as there were only 1,000 of these cars ever made. Read more about the Gold Dusty.
  • While some regular edition cars come back in stock once they sell out (unless the cars are "Retired"), the Limited Edition cars are only made once, and are never produced again.

Autopia Gold Dusty: Year 2000 Special Edition

Autopia Gold DustyBecky writes, "I have a Dusty Autopia car that is a metallic dark gold. It was a raffle prize for Disneyland employees when the Autopia ride re-opened. I wonder how many other cars like this are out there?" Here's a photo of her car.

To answer your question, the gold-colored Autopia Dusty car was produced in the year 2000. These cars were produced to commemorate the re-opening of the Chevron-sponsored Autopia ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. There were only 1,000 of these cars made.

The cars were given as gifts to Chevron Executives and personnel that attended the opening and also to Disney Executives at the grand opening event. They were not in the traditional Chevron Cars packaging with the see-through blister, rather they were placed in a special commemorative blue velvet bag.

The cars are quite rare and we don't see them for sale very often, though we have seen them on eBay from time to time -- some selling for as much as $270.
