I just found a Gold Dusty, without the velvet bag in a second hand shop for $25.00. I'm so excited I'm shaking. Now I have them all... now where to get the velvet bag?

Hi folks... I was one of the Cast Members that created and managed the private party at the hotel for Chevron. I was given a Gold Dusty in the blue velvet back and still have it. It's in storage but if anyone is actually interested in purchasing it at the $2000 level or anywhere near that, I'll go dig it out and sell it to you. To answer one of the other bloggers question regarding the No.2 on the bottom, it refers to it being the second car in the entire series of cars and NOT the second of only 1000 made. Regard, Doug

I hear that there is a #2 on the bottom of the Gold Dusty. But then I also hear it is #5 . Does anyone have an answer as to which one it is?

Please release gold dusty again for all us true blue die hard collectors
even if it's a bit pricy, not like at ebay.

I finally won a Gold Dusty on eBay with the velvet bag and plastic cover. It was expensive, but I guess thats the way it goes if you really want to collect all of the cars. I have the entire collection (as of 10/30/07),including all 8 Victor E Vans.

I just won a Gold Dusty on eBay without the velvet bag, but it was a great buy. I've been waiting for one to show up and it was there. Everyone searching for the Gold Dusty keep up the search they are out there!

I just wanted to give a little hope to all those people looking for the gold dusty. I just bought one for $15 off of the Los Angeles area Craigslist. I really thought it couldn't be the same car, but I got it today and it is definately the gold dusty! The man I bought it from worked for Disney and won it in a raffle. Keep Searching.

I have a gold dusty car that I purchased. It has a No. 2 on the bottom of it. Does that mean it is number 2 out of 1000? Does anyone know?

Holly COw - I have taken all kinds of abuse from my wife for buying all these cars and now I find out I don't have a complete collection after all these years... This is enough to make me sell the ones I got, I've never opened any of them - there all in original packaging. But I do not have Gold Dusty ---- rats !!!!

Yes I think you are right, We all should have the chance to add this car to our collections. But not at the price that will lower the value of the first ones. I would like one for my self, I own Three(3) complete sets of the cars I would do some trading for one to some one that may have an extra.And yes it would only fair to the rest of us that have a complete set or working on one, to buy this Gold Dusty as you said at a fair price. how did you get that gold dusty? i have been looking on ebay for a long time and haven't seen anything about a gold dusty. its true that chevron should make more of the gold dusty becausewithout it many people are mad that they don't have the complete collection inluding me. its the only car that im missing.i wish i had one. i hope i can get one on ebay someday.is there someone willing to sell me a gold dusty car? anyone? I think you should start selling some gold dusties, I have every sigle chevron car including the hope 2001 and I need the gold dusty to complete my collection.

I have every single one EXCEPT this one. We are in the land of opportunity and we should get an opportunity to purchase this car at an affordable price. How about reissuing it and give some (or all) of the money to charity. Make some avalaible each year for a limited time. If not can someone put me in their will for it?

There is currently a golden dusty on eBay for sale. Under 'search', type in 'chevron car golden' and it will be there!!

We have been collecting chevron cars since the very first one came out and did find a Gold Dusty for sale on Ebay that we purchased! We paid a little more than we wanted too, but are very happy to have completed our collection. DON'T GIVE UP! Keep searching and one day you could find one too! That is what makes collecting so much fun! Remember, there were only 1000 of them made!

i am a real big chevron car collector and i am really disapointed that you can't get gold dusties bucause now i will probably never have a complete set

I agree with a lot of people. You should reproduce the Limited Edition Dusty & put it up for sale. I guarantee you will have a lot of buyers including me. I am just missing Dusty. I have all of them so far. Thank you.

Oh well, there is always something new to take your mind off of not so fun news, like a new car, just got Brent Blizzard today. Really cute and a fun new addition for all of us nutty people with the whole collection.

I too am a big collector of the chevron cars. I am willing to pay big time for the dusty gold car in the velvet bag. I have two complete sets of all the cars, plus many more cars I am saving to sell after I retire.

I like to buy this 5 gold car but they should make a car for only people that has all of the cars you can buy. ps it should be free for the one that have them all that you can buy.

I did the voice of Dusty the SUV at Disneyland's Autopia when I was only 14, and then when I was 17. Fun stuff!

if any one has a gold dusty car i would pay as much as i could afford for the car i have every cheveron car in its original box even the first four cars in the boxes they were originaly released in.. i would love to complete my collection and would be very grateful to anyone who would be willing to sell me the gold dusty car.

I have 3 of the red Sparky cars and I am willing to sell or trade it for a gold Dusty car. If someone is willing for this trade I'm greatly willing. I would also buy the gold dusty car as well as give the sparky car to someone willing.

I now hear that the first 4 cars that came out in the boxes also came out in the plastic 1/2 bubble, is this true and if so how can I get them.

Recently there were 2 golden Dusties that sold for $303 and $515 on eBay.

Hey, I'm crazy about Patty Patrol but can't seem to find her ANYWHERE!!! When is she supposed to be back in stock? Secondly, about the gold autopia car,I don't think I am even going to try to get it because to me it doesn't really seem like a Chevron car. It doesn't even have a face!

The script on the bottom of the car looks exactly like it is on the bottom of Dusty. It doesn't say anything like "LE1" like the other limited editions do.

Hey this question is for who ever has one of these cars. On the bottom of the car, what does it say? Is it a limited edition car, special edition car, numbered series car, or autopia car no.5? Please let me know because Im curios. My second question is... will you sell it to me? pretty please!!!!

I am a die hard Chevron car collector and I also thought I had my collection complete until I hear about this gold car in the velvet bag. So if I fail to acquire this car, does that mean that my collection is not worth as much because it is not complete? Or do we just forget about the special car?

I think maybe it would be a good thing not to say to much about this because it is kind of upsetting to know that we can not get one.

the gold autopia car does not have any people in it. it came in either a blue velvet bag with autopia promotional papers or in a cheap plastic 1/2 bubble protective cover with no papers.

As far as complete collections go, (of which I now know I don't have because of that rare gold dusty car) you have to have the 2 versions of the first 4 cars. Sam Sedan, Wendy Wagon, Tony Turbo and Freddie 4-Wheeler were released first in a box and then released in the blister package a few years later. The entire collection consists of 53 packages of cars (counting the 2 baby cars as 1 package each). I have 52...argh.

Im glad there is a picture finally. But why isnt it on the "all the cars ever made" list? and does it come with people inside in like the normal one does?

This is the first I'm hearing about the Gold Autopia car. I haven't even seen it on eBay - I have set up my account to get notices when new cars are posted. I'm assuming there's no other way to ever get this car? This now makes 3 cars that I'll have to get to complete my collection... That bugs!

I am so excited a new car is coming out in July. It's the Pizza one! I have been looking forward to it for such a long time. I haven't seen any pictures of the Gold Autopia Car yet though, and I have been checking ebay everyday now that I know it's out there somewhere. I dislike the autopia cars. I don't even consider them true Chevron cars because they don't even have faces on them. I bought them out of habit, but never have removed them from their packages and displayed them like the rest of the cars. I'm glad that they made something so rare in that subset so I don't feel I need to buy it to complete my chevron cars collection. I'd have died of grief if they had made one of the other driver's eds cars or ice cream trucks in another color in this fashion.

are there any pictures of the special edition rare gold autopia dusty anywhere?

I have the Four Glasses that I bought at a Chevron Station a few years back. They are cool but I have never used them.

only dusty was produced in the special edition golden paint version. no special cars were sold in the blister pack boxes sorry but you do not have anything rare in the dusty and sparky you picked up in albuquerque. they were the regular edtions. at the autopia grand opening cars were given to the disney and chevron execs. in the blue velvet bag which came with some autopia brochures. the ones in just the plastic half shell blister were given/raffled? to the lesser chevron/disney employees at the event and later distributed among chevron employees.

First off I love this new feature for chevron car collectors. However, after reading that I am one short of my ongoing collection I have become very very sad. If anyone is interested in selling me the Gold Limited Edition Autopia Car please e-mail me.

As for my collection, I currently have all cars except the Gold Autopia, but 4 years ago I received 4 beautiful glasses with pictures of the cars on them. They were found at a Chevron Station. But now I can not find any other stations that sell them and I even searched online. Anyone seen anything unique out there?

Wow! I can not believe what I am reading!. We have both Dusty and Sparky. We were travelling to Albuquerque and we stopped in Truth or Consequences for gas. The cashier GAVE us the cars, and asked if we wanted more. We said, "No, no this is enough;" we felt strange for having not paid for the cars. They weren't in a velvet pouch, just the plastic casing. If only we had known...

I also got mine off of eBay for about $70ish a few years back. Mine came w/ the blue velvet bag that has something along the lines of "Disneyland" and "Chevron" embroidered on it...it's a pull string type closure. Also, I got a small pamphlet about the autopia with mine too which is I'm sure long gone.

I wish I had this car to complete my collection.

It is so good to finally get some information on this car. I got mine on eBay in 2000 without the velvet bag, but it did have a clear blister without any other packaging. I sure would like to aquire the velvet bag.
