The Next New Chevron Car: Promise (Exclusive)

Breast Cancer Awareness Car - PromiseUpdate 9/29/06: Promise is available now while supplies last at ChevronCars.com's Toy Store. You can find Promise here.

We have seen the new 2006 Breast Cancer Awareness car, and she is beautiful! When we first saw Promise, we knew immediately that she was going to be a big hit. We have an exclusive photo to show you, and we'll have some more coming soon.

Promise is two-toned, with pink (of course!) and white, along with some hot pink highlights. Officially designated Special Edition (SE) 6, Promise follows a long line of Breast Cancer Awareness cars from Chevron, the first of which was introduced in October, 2001.

“Each day, Promise relies on the old-fashioned values of her classic-model ancestors: make only promises you can keep—and then try to deliver more than you promise.”

According to her bio, Promise is originally from Devotion, North Carolina, and her cousin is… Della Deluxe!

All the net proceeds from the sale of Chevron’s Breast Cancer Awareness cars each year are donated to aid in the search for a cure for breast cancer, and Chevron has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars from these sales.

Most of the money from these net proceeds is donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation, while other portions of the proceeds help to fund local area "Race for the Cure" and related events. The Komen Foundation is a long-standing and very well-respected organization with a direct goal of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.

Keep an eye on the free Chevron Cars Newsletter over the next few weeks for the official announcement of the release of this wonderful car, as last year's model sold out on the website in less than two months.

“The future is full of promise!”

Hi to everyone. I am an adult collector. I began collecting these gorgeous cars when they were first released in the 90's. Unfortunately, I had them in storage during a move and we were robbed. Now, I am in the process of trying to rebuild mine (and my daughter's) collection. I think it would be great if all of the adult collectors out there formed kind of a little group and helped one another. Sometimes, I see cars in one area that can't be found in another area. Would anyone be interested in forming a "little group" to correspond, help locate cars, trade/buy cars from one another, etc? I think it would be great if only to meet new people that love these cute cars as much as I do. Post a blog, and let me know what you think! Have a good day!

In our collection, I noticed we cannot add the Mini Key Chain cars. Wonder why? Also, we happen to have watches and licensed Coca Cola glasses which were also sold only at Chevron Stations, but see no mention of them at all on the website!

Does anyone have any idea what a complete collection might be worth for insurance purposes?

Thank you for any ideas/assistance.

Do the Chevron folks read these blogs? lol

I have an unrealated statement to make and I'm making it because this blog seems to be the most current. A "wendy wagon without eyebrows variant" was mentioned once. I believe I have the answer to that statement.

In 1995, the first 3 cars came out in boxes of which wendy wagon was one. I believe that this original green car came without eyebrows. Now I cannot confirm this because my wendy wagon in the box has never been opened nor will it ever be. And I do know that the 2nd release of the wendy wagon which was in the blister package did have eyebrows. If someone has more knowledge about this please agree or correct me.

where can Promise be purchased?

  - Posted By: j on September 28, 2006

I was just wondering every year it is tradition on October 1 I drive to a Chevron after work and find the new breast cancer car. Last year October 1 was on Saturday and the store I go to didn't have her. So when me and so friends went to San Diego for the weekend I found her there that would be Cherish. I guess my questions is October first is on Sunday will I find her or is there no delivery truck for Chevrons on Sunday?

I really love the new breast cancer
car design. I appreciate your support
with fighting breast cancer. I can't

idea to start a breast cancer collection? Did they have a family
member with breast cancer? Thanks and God bless!
